When we first bought our house there was a utilitarian chandelier boringly hanging in the dining room.

So we whipped out the trusty can of black spray paint (the possibilities are ENDLESS!) and transformed it to a higher end wrought iron look alike chandelier for a few bucks. The hubs and I both knew that would only hold me over for so long though...the chandelier still didn't go with our house. Plus, dusting a spray painted chandelier does not work and is extremely annoying.
So thanks to an awesome nestie I found this chandelier and had to have it! The globes mimic the original school house fixture in the kitchen and look like they belong in a 1940s house. My mom bought it for me as my Christmas present and of course I couldn't wait to get it up there (no I didn't make him put it up Christmas night even though I thought about it...but the next morning..oooh yeah). Oh and also, in case you wondering, yes we put up new window treatments...the last ones were way too formal.
It was a huge change at first, but it only took a few days to grow on me and now I love it and I love that it's somewhat unconventional as far as chandeliers go.
